Prosthodontics
It is a branch of dentistry pertaining to the restoration and maintenance of mouth's functions, comfort, appearance and health of the patient by the restoration of natural teeth and/or the replacement of missing teeth and contiguous tissues with artificial substitutes.
Prosthodontists are dentists who have completed advanced training and education in a prosthodontic education program to gain knowledge and experience beyond the basic principles of prosthodontics provided at the dental school level. Prosthodontists can provide an extremely high level of dental care to patients with malaligned, malformed, missing, or extremely damaged teeth. They are highly trained in several techniques and procedures to treat many diverse and complex dental conditions and restore optimum function and esthetics.
